The Pursual

The Pursual: Book 1 of the Nome Chronicles

Will politics, profit and power keep Neith and Invier apart or will they overcome all obstacles to create a future together?

Neith and Invier are madly in love, yet destined for an unhappy ever after. Invier’s family is too lowly-ranked for a union with Neith, so she, unwilling to accept a loveless union with someone else, revives a long-abandoned competition called the Pursual. In the Pursual, the prize is the girl and an alliance with her influential family.

Entered into the competition without his consent, Invier becomes suspicious of Neith’s motives. Still, he must win, or see his love married to a rival. The mysterious deaths of competitors, the discovery of dark secrets, and a growing rebellion mean that nothing will come easy.

The competition meant to bring them together threatens to tear the couple apart. Can they work together to overcome their rivals and gain a life with each other?

From the Author:
The Pursual is a young adult dystopian romance set in a plausible future where corporations run by super-wealthy families control everything and dominate the lives of everyone. Readers of Graceling, The Hunger Games and the Winner’s Curse books, will enjoy this novel full of complex societal politics and rich characters.

About the Author:
F. F. John was an incredibly inquisitive child who was encouraged to find answers in books. When she’d read everything her home had to offer and there was no more space in the house to accommodate additional books, her mother told her to write her own stories. So, she did.

Today, she continues to create worlds of characters that have a lot to say about everything. And she lets them do just that. They tend to give answers to the riddles she’s yet to solve.

F. F. John’s first book, The Pursual, is the first in The Nome Chronicles Series. Her second book, The Paladin, comes out in June 2017.
