Thread of a Spider

Thread of a Spider

Teens enlist the Fae to win a war in Ireland.

Following an ambush at the Upton Rail Station in 1921 Ireland, British troops burn Ailis’ home to the ground and arrest her fiancé, Liam, for murder. She and her younger brother Paddy flee to an enchanted glen. Lured by a haunting song, Paddy is abducted by forest folk. Perilous obstacles, and a questionable stranger, hinder Ailis’ attempts to find her brother or free her fiance, until her only hope for survival rests on the magic of the Fae.

From the Author:
For the last year or so, I’ve been engaged in intense study of Irish history. Enchanted by the people of Ireland, their perseverance, the struggles and tragedies they suffered, and their long history of defending their homes and fighting for independence. The music, the dancing, the passion put a longing in my heart for Irish tradition. Reading Paddy’s Lament broke my heart on their behalf and helped me to understand the passion behind the Irish revolution. And when I read Tom Barry’s Guerilla Days in Ireland, I was amazed at the overwhelming odds the rag tag militia called the Irish Volunteers faced. Being a fantasy writer, I couldn’t help but wonder if they didn’t have the supernatural aide of their forest folk, and so Thread of a Spider came to be. I do hope you like it.
